On Friday, September 17th NDIA New England held its second annual charity golf tournament to support Veterans at Wentworth Hills Country Club in Plainville MA. The rain held off and over 100 golfers teed off together in a shotgun start playing a team best ball scramble. Participants took part in closest to the pin, longest drive, and par 3 competitions and prizes were awarded to the first, second, middle of the pack and last place teams. Immediately following golf, a buffet lunch was served and 50/50 and prize raffles were held. In addition to the companies who provided sponsorships or foursomes who played in the tournament, there were also many businesses who generously sponsored holes or provided raffle prizes for the tournament. All the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to a local veteran’s charity.
“NDIA New England is proud to sponsor our annual Charity Golf Tournament for Veterans” said NDIA New England President Dr. M. Roman Hachkowski, “we welcome the opportunity to support and give back to our local warfighters anytime we can.” Roman also recognized all veterans in attendance and offered a moment of silence for the service men and women who were killed in the recent attack in Afghanistan.
It was a great day had by all and a tremendous show of support for our local veterans! Thank you to all the volunteers, Wentworth Hills Country Club, Lafayette House Restaurant, our sponsors, the NDIA New England golf committee and all who participated!
