NDIA New England was recently awarded the 2021 Chapter of Excellence Award by NDIA National for the third year in a row. The award promotes the continued relationship and open communication between NDIA National and its chapters and encourages chapters to strive to reach new and more challenging goals. The award reflects the dedication of NDIA New England’s cohesive group of volunteers to the Association’s mission.
Despite yet another challenging environment this year, NDIA New England remained committed to providing value to our members and community by improving national security and local warfighter support and enhancing the region’s economic base. This past year the Chapter kept members informed on the latest relevant news and policies through emails, social media, and updates to our website. We held several successful virtual and live events including DCAA webinars focused on Proposals, Accounting, Timekeeping and Incurred Cost Submissions, and a virtual Breakfast Series that included events such as Working Collaboratively with DoD Acquisition and Leveraging DoD OTAs. We also co-hosted the Robotica UAS Summit with AUVSI New England and MassAutonomy.
We continued to give back to our local military community by hosting a social at Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co. with donations going to Operation Delta Dog. We also held our second annual golf tournament to support Veterans which was widely attended and a huge success. As a result of the tremendous support by all the participants and sponsoring companies, we were able to provide significant donations to Homes for Our Troops which builds and adapts custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives, and the Fisher House Foundation that builds comfort homes where military and veteran families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital.
Thank you to all our members who despite the challenging year helped us adapt and overcome many challenges. We look forward to continuing to promote a strong and diverse New England security ecosystem and supporting our local warfighters and their families in the new year!
