On Friday, September 16th NDIA New England held its third annual Veterans charity golf tournament at Chemawa Golf Club in North Attleboro MA. All the proceeds from this year’s tournament went to the Travis Mills Foundation, which supports recalibrated veterans and their families through various programs that help these heroic men and women overcome physical and emotional obstacles, strengthen their families, and provide well-deserved rest and relaxation at their nationally recognized retreat in the Belgrade Lakes Region of Maine.

It was a beautiful day and over 100 golfers teed off together in a shotgun start playing a team best ball scramble. Participants took part in closest to the pin, longest drive, par 3 and putting competitions and prizes were awarded to the first, second, middle of the pack and last place teams. Immediately following golf, a buffet lunch was served and 50/50 and prize raffles were held. A number of companies and individuals generously sponsored foursomes, holes and donated prizes for the raffles with all the proceeds going to the Travis Mills Foundation. Representatives from Travis Mills attended along with local veterans who were sponsored to play in the tournament.

“We are very proud to host our annual Charity Golf Tournament for Veterans and support such a great organization like Travis Mills” said NDIA New England President Dr. M. Roman Hachkowski, “we welcome the opportunity to support our warfighters and their families anytime we can.”

It was a great day had by all and our largest turnout to date which is a testament to the support of our local veterans and their families. Thank you to all of the sponsors, volunteers, Travis Mills Foundation, Chemawa Golf Club, the NDIA New England golf committee and all who participated!
