On Thursday, October 19th, NDIA New England held its fourth annual Veterans charity golf tournament at Blissful Meadows Golf Club in Uxbridge, MA. All the proceeds from this year’s tournament went to Homes For Our Troops, which builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives.
Despite having to reschedule the tournament due to weather, we had a great turnout with over 70 golfers teeing off in a shotgun start together on a beautiful fall day. Participants took part in closest to the pin, longest drive, par 3 and putting competitions and prizes were awarded to the first, second, middle of the pack and last place teams. Immediately following golf, a buffet lunch was served and 50/50 and prize raffles were held. Once again, we received tremendous support from our members and friends, companies and individuals generously sponsored foursomes, holes and donated prizes for the raffles with all the proceeds going to Homes For Our Troops. As a result of all of your generous support, NDIA New England presented Chris Mitchell, Director of Development for Homes For Our Troops with a $10,000 donation.
“Thank you to everyone who participated and supported our annual Veterans Charity Golf Tournament. Because of the great support from our members and friends we are able to give back to our Veterans and their families and support great organizations like Homes For Our Troops” said NDIA New England President Dr. M. Roman Hachkowski.
Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, Homes For Our Troops, Blissful Meadows Golf Club, the NDIA New England golf committee and all who participated! We hope to see you next year!
