NDIA New England Board Member Dr. Elaine B. Coleman

Entrepreneurial and creative Business Leader, Investor and Board member driving value creation and commercialization for technology companies. Elaine holds a Ph.D. in Applied Cognitive Science, with a proven track record leading high performance teams and delivering measurable results through business development, product marketing strategy, agile product development, and customer experience (CX) for both startups and global technology companies. Her recent work in the Defense Industry highlighted her efforts to drive innovation to advance business and national interests. Elaine accelerates and matures government funded AI/ML innovations and brings products to market through licensing, corporate partnerships, and joint ventures. She currently sits on several advisory boards, is a Business Mentor at Harvard’s Innovation Lab (i-Lab), and Advisor to Startups at Toronto’s Innovation District (MaRS), providing strategic advice to world-class technology, data science, retail, and eLearning technology companies.  In addition to serving on the Board of Directors at the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) New England, Elaine is a Limited Partner, Investor and Advisor at Firsthand Alliance, and How Women Invest (HWI). Elaine received her Ph.D. in Applied Cognitive Science from the University of Toronto in 1992 and was awarded a James S. McDonnell Postdoctoral Fellowship that was held at UC: Berkeley from 1992-1994.
