Peter Cokotis is Program Manager for the Massachusetts APEX Accelerator Program, hosted by the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center (MSBDC) Network, headquartered at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts (UMASS)–Amherst. DoD APEX Accelerator Program focuses on assisting small and medium businesses on Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and Government Industrial Base (GIB) readiness.
Peter has over 25 years of contract management experience in the aerospace and defense industry, primarily with United Technologies Aerospace Systems. Prior to joining the Massachusetts APEX (formerly PTAC) in 2000, Peter worked directly on multi-million dollar contracts with customers which included the United States Air Force, various Department of Defense (DoD) agencies and major aerospace companies such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Orbital Sciences. As APEX Accelerator Program Manager, Peter leads the *DoD-funded Massachusetts APEX Accelerator statewide staff, assisting over 1,200 active small business clients each year. Peter supports small business initiatives with the DoD Northeast Regional Council for Small Business Advocacy; he is a member of NAPEX–National APEX Accelerator Alliance (formerly APTAC), the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) New England Chapter. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Western New England University – Springfield, Massachusetts.
