NDIA New England Liaison Yoojeong Kim Ph.D.

Yoojeong Kim is the Innovation & Outreach Team Lead for the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC) in Natick, Massachusetts. Innovation and Outreach Team responsibilities include Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), technology licensing, external R&D collaborations, coordinating approval of Cooperative Research Development Agreements (CRADAs), support agreements for Soldier Center, and International Programs.

Prior to joining the DEVCOM SC, Dr. Kim served as Director at Triton Systems, Inc. where for 17 years she was a program manager and a primary investigator for numerous government contract research programs including Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), SBIR, and STIR in the areas of chemical and biological defense, aerosol science, biological sensor/detector development, and biomedical devices. Her job functions included identifying new technologies and/or products based on customer needs, forming collaborations with academic or industrial partners, and leading multidisciplinary teams. Previously, she worked in a petrochemical company where she developed and scaled up a polymerization process for market production, as well as a startup company for carbon dioxide capture and conversion where she built and deployed the first field demonstration units.

Dr. Kim received a B.S. and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).
