Karen serves as the VP of Defense Innovation for Activate Global, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization offering entrepreneurial fellowships empowering scientists to bring deep tech innovations to market. Karen facilitates partnerships to advance new capabilities in the areas of microelectronics, sustainability, energy security and supply chain resiliency. Karen manages the Activate/DARPA INNOVATE program, supported by MIT Lincoln Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. Prior to Activate, Karen led innovation programs for Battelle Memorial Institute and Raytheon Technologies.
Karen earned a B.S. in Environmental Technology from the Biological and Environmental Engineering Department at Cornell University and a MBA in Entrepreneurship from Babson College. In addition to serving on the board of NDIA New England, Karen serves as the President of WID Greater Boston Chapter and a member of the NDIA Logistics Energy Subcommittee and NDIA Electronics Division.
